Nowadays, with the increasing stress and workload, people are less inclined to turn to their family members for help. The essay will delve into the underlying causes and possible consequences of this trend.
Individuals who dislike worrying others may avoid talking about their strenuous work, even though they are struggling. This behaviour intends to protect partners or children from being overwhelmed, particularly by those breadwinners. For instance, business failure or bankruptcy is usually obscured so that kids in a family can stay happy without feeling the stress to make ends meet. That is, parental love and the willingness to maintain the relationship with their partners keep people from expressing their anxieties.
Another reason is that when advice from family members is useless or impractical, people tend to turn to social media and increase their screentime, as the root of the apprehension is often a lack of expertise and resources that family members frequently fail to offer. In this case, online forums and communities which include experts and problem-solvers are usually the place to be, rather than a family dinner w here the problems remain unsolved afterwards.
From my perspective, this trend is a negative development. In the absence of effective communication, workers can experience sensory overload, consequently leading to mental diseases such as depression and unsociability. In contrast, they can gain emotional support otherwise by exchanging ideas and problems. Although the support may not solve anything instantly, the emotional values provided by other people in the family can lower the risks of being devastated. In addition, insufficient conversation with parents poses significant barriers to children’s personal growth. These teens may feel lonely or insecure since they cannot experience care and love that only communication can provide.
In conclusion, people reduce the rate of conversing with family members mainly for protection and a solution. This can harm both themselves and their children.
