In recent years, developing countries paid attention more to enlarge the sector of tourism. Although it has certain drawbacks, I believe the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.
To begin with, tourism prompted many benefits for countries in terms of raising local funds, spreading local culture, and introducing the country to the entire world. One of the popular benefits of tourism is getting larger budget and improving local economy. Since many tourists visit, purchase local products, and pay appointment fee. For example, Saudi Arabia receives millions of visitors every year, thus it is also one of the most wealthy countries in Western Asia. Additionally, tourists are attracted by cultural celebrations, products, and cuisines. Therefore, they contribute to spread traditions and customs all over the world. Consequently, country might be well-known. Moreover many visitors’ interest is recruited again and again because country seem like best place to travel and stroll for pleasure.
On the contrary, regardless of local communities are making benefits, though, local population become dependent on the influx of tourists cash. In Gambia, for instance, 30% of workplace depend directly on tourism. Substantial workers serve visitors in terms of their demands and desires. Furthermore, it also threat other sectors of fundraising because owning more money by tourism decreases the development of other sections . As a result, if tourism fails, countries face many difficulties to recover its economy again. Economic aside, there are social consequences as well of high growth of tourism for local communities. Foreigners influences can come unwelcome behavior and activities .As an example, it can also be serious due to raise of drug ise , alcohol abuse , and crime events.
In a nutshell, tourism is welcomed warmly by local communities in financial terms. However, there are also drawbacks like dependent on tourism, violation of morals, and lack of development for other funds. Nevertheless, I firmly believe the beneficial side of tourism outweigh its disadvantages.
