In most countries, there is a discrepancy between technology and traditional culture adaptation.Some believe that technology conflicting with traditional cultures while others believe they can be well matched. In this essay, I disagree with the statement that traditional cultures are contradicting technology.
Cultural practices has been there from ages before the introduction of technology and they always have rules on dos and don’ts. Craving of wooden idols has always been hand-made in most villages and has not changed till now due to repercussions. For instance, during my exploration to a village, I found out craving must be hand made and through technology because the believe that during the process their gods speak to them on what to create.
On the contrary, technology helps traditional cultures a lot and makes it convenient for everyone. Medically, herbs will soak for days or be grinded manually before it can be given to a patient who need immediate attention but with the introduction of technology, the herbs get refined in drug mass production, making it accessible. Additionally, technology makes it easier to identify a particular problem of the patient before treatment, which tradition needs.
Furthermore, security and awareness are also essential. Tourists who are interested in see the culture and art work find it hard to navigate their ways or understand what the art stands for. But with the help of technology, they knows where to find what they want also to identify the story behind it. It also protects the art work from being stolen for personal interest.
To sum up, despite the fact that some believe traditional cultures are contradicting technology, I solemnly believe they are both important to other. I hope the discrepancy will stop and see that both are essential and can be suitably use.
