Nowadays, by technological inventions such as computers and the Internet, our lifestyles have changed dramatically including seniors generation. Although there are some benefits of teaching computer skill for elderly people, I believe that using government’s money for them to teach computer skill is waste.
It is true that there are several benefits to teach technological knowledge for senior. One advantage of this is that they can increase their interest in life. Because we know when people get old, their confidence in life decrease in over time. Nevertheless, by learning new modern activities like computer skill , elderly people can spent their time enjoyably on communicating friends and watching news. In additional, they may use computer for taking recommendations from a doctor against diseases, For example, my grandmother used to chat with a doctor online in twice a year.
On the other hand, I think that government should use its budget on other important problems rather than teaching computer skill for seniors. In other words, there are a lot of problems such as environmental, air pollution and educational. If these problems are not solved, it may harm most people regardless of age. Moreover, as ageing, people are more likely to suffering from diseases like diabetes and cancer. The drugs which are used against such diseases are extremely expensive. For the reason that, it is better for the government to use them.
In conclusion, even though there are several benefits of teaching computer skill for seniors, in my opinion, government should spend budget on more serious issues.
