Nowadays, many students are prefering to complete their higher education overseas instead of staying in their home country. In my opinion, I believe that the positive points of studying abroad surpass the negative aspects.
On the one hand, some people believe that the choice of studying overseas have some disadvantages. Firstly, it is a fact that language barrier can represent an obstacle for students in their attempt to integrate to their new country. This situation can be even worse, when they go with little or no knowledge in regard to the country language’s, expecting to communicate in English to local people. Another reason it that students might face loneliness, finding themselves in an unfamiliar place, with no one around and feeling isolated because of the cultural differences. As a consequence, it might have a negative impact in their mental condition and even physical health, with symptoms such as nausea, frustation, confusion and homesickness.
On the other hand, I believe that having studied in another countries brings so many positive aspects for young people. First of all, students will have the chance to prove themselves what are capable of, being in another country requires people to push their limits beyond the norm into difficult experiences. As a result, all these challenging experiencies make you grow as a person. Secondly, living abroad gives you the chance to learn about how to live indenpently and be responsable of you own life, doing simple chores such as cleaning their own rooms or doing laundry, might seem easy but it is not when you are on own. Lastly, it cannot be denied that in certain countries, international graduate certificates have additional value whenthe students search for jobs.
In conclusion, it is undeniable that the preference of studying in a foreign country has it is own benefits and drawbacks. In my personal view, it has more advantages for students themselves.
