We often say that a generation gap exists and that it will always remain between older and younger people. This gap mainly appears because people from different generations are growing up in completely different conditions. However, although this problem was common, it is still possible to create balance in relations between two generations.
One of the main causes of generation gap is difference in life experience. Older people usually grow up in difficult social or economic situations, where discipline, hard work and obedience are valuing a lot. Younger generation, on the other hand, was raised in a modern world with advanced technology, freedom of choice and fast lifestyle. Because of this, their way of thinking and priorities often do not matched with the views of older people. Another important reason was technology. Young people are adapting to new devices and social media very easily, while older generation do not understand them well, which was creating misunderstanding and communication problems.
Despite these differences, balance between generations is possible. The main solution was effective communication. Both sides should be ready to listen and not only judged each other. Older people need to accept that the world is changing and young people will think differently, while younger generation should respect the experience and values which elders are having. When people are spending more time together and was sharing opinions calmly, conflicts can be reduced.
In conclusion, generation gap was caused by differences in upbringing, life conditions and technological progress. Although it cannot be fully removed, mutual respect, understanding and open communication is helping to create harmony between two generations.
