In this modern world, young people today spend more time on digital devices than previous generation, which has led to concerns about reduced physical activities. I totally agree with this statement and will give some valid points in support of my stand in the upcoming paragraphs.
The first point which will support my point of view is increased screen time. The ride of social media, video games and streaming services has led to more sedentary lifestyles. Many young people spend hours online, reducing time spent on physical activities. For example, a study by World Health Organisation found that over 80% of young people do not meet the recommended levels of physical activities. So, there is a lot of difference between old and young generation.
The second point is decline in outdoor activities. Unlike previous generation who played outside more often, many children and teenagers today prefer indoor games, which can contribute to lower physical fitness. For example, in past generation, children spent their free time in riding bikes, playing in parks, or engaging in neighbourhood games such as soccer. So, decline in physical activities have adverse impact on young people’s health.
In conclusion, today’s young generation is significantly less physically active compared to their parents and grandparents. The ride of digital entertainment, social media, and video games has led to a more sedentary lifestyle, reducing outdoor play and excercise. As a result, health issues are increasing.
