Band 6+: What distinguishes young people from their parents' or grandparents' generation is a lack of physical exercise. Today's generation are spending far too long playing computer games, chatting aimlessly on social networking sites or simply watching TV, and too little time being active. To what extent do you agree or disagree

Nowadays, young people spend too much time on internet technologies and TV; as a result, they experience a lack of activity. I totally agree with this statement. In my opinion, current generation physically weaker than previous generations.

To begin with, parents buy smartphones for their children at a very young age. Young people literally are growing up with devices and spend a lot of time with them; as a result, a small amount of time is spent on physical exercises. This problem leads to health issues in older ages. Previous generations did not have such technologies and did other things; furthermore, physical exercise was more popular than now. Parents and grandparents did exercises to relax after education or work, but current young people prefer to use smartphones in their free time.

To continue with, social media contain aimless or wrong information, and the young generation trusts it, while their parents, for example, read mostly beneficial books recommended by their teachers; as a result, they understood that physical exercise helps them to be in shape and prevents some health problems. Children use smartphones everywhere; they play games in lessons instead of learning, as a result, they do not even know about the dangers of smartphones.

In conclusion, today’s generation uses its gadgets whenever possible; they do not like to do exercises and sometimes do not know that it can lead to health issues, while older generations did exercises to relax and understood the benefits of physical exercises.
