Today construction of buildings has become common in the mega cities and also extended up to vicinity of the cities. Some people opine that the most important aspects to design a building is its functions rather than its outward aesthetic appearance.
Yes, I would agree that if a building is designed in such a way from outside that it attracts people to observe and wanted people to visit the building but it will be then possible when the use of that building is well planned or organised and have authenticity of their work. Like for example, there is some agency in the building that provides tourism facilities and the building has good appearance but the agency could not provide the basic services for its customers and doing some fraudulent work then it is of no use. Likewise, if there is a beautiful school in any area having good picturesque sceneries in its surroundings but if the school could not provide a good education to its students, then it is waste of time and money for the students who are studying in that school.
It is also important to ensure that what materials have been used to construct that building and check the sustainability of that building because if there is an earthquake, firebreak or any such disasters or catastrophes, the building should be safe otherwise it can lead to many injuries.
So, it is necessary that while designing a building, it has some intended use and must be safe from any disaster rather than keeping outward appearance aesthetic or good looking. There is a metaphor ”don’t judge a book by its cover” which means that we should not judge the value or worth of something by its outward surroundings and appearances.
