There is a specific opinion exist that during our first encounter with someone, we generally make up our mind very quickly on what kind of person we think they are and whether we like then or not. In my view, that is not a good practice to establish and hold on to your first impression about other people that fast. The following analysis will outline the primary disadvantages of this notion.
Foremost among the disadvantages is the potential to simply make a mistake and cut off the person before even trying to know them better. You most probably might loose a great opportunity to make new friends or get useful contacts.
Moreover, it is very easy to put yourself in a risky situation by trusting a person who you just met and had a good impression about. But you could make a huge mistake and being open with an individual who could use it against you and put you in an unpleasant or dangerous situation.
In conclusion, building your strong opinion about the other person almost from the first sight is a destructive and not clever practice. This false attitude could pull you back from making new friends or at the opposite, put you in a risky situation. Therefore, I strongly believe that it is not a good thing when we meet someone for the first time to decide very quickly what kind of person we think they are and if we like them or not.
