Some argue that newspapers are the best source to gather new information, while others say that such news could be gained through other sources. While I think newspapers have detailed events of the day, I believe that other platforms, like social media, are much better, as they give recent updates on events.
On the one hand, newspapers give detailed information on the current day’s events. Most Newspapers write very precise details on the events that take place on the day it is published. Furthermore, they also illustrate pictures to better explain the situation. For example, the Washington Post, a famous news outlet in the US, is awarded to have the best Newpapers, because of its Thorough information on daily events with precise pictures. However, I believe that this way of attaining knowledge is outdated and that there are other ways that provide much wider and better coverage.
On the other hand, other platforms provide much better news on current events. Most social media platforms, like Instagram, provide hourly updates of fresh news and clips from the actual location where the event is taking place. For example, the Qatar FIFA World Cup was highly covered on Instagram by FIFA officials, this enabled viewers to learn new emerging news and where also able to watch videos that better explained the event. I believe that this way of learning news is much more modern, and it is possible for anyone to access it from anywhere with the help of smart phones.
In conclusion, although Newspapers might have detailed information to readers with pictures, this method is outdated and would argue that other online sources, like Instagram, provide hourly updates and explanations with live videos and can be accessed with the help of smart phones.
