There are two cases involved, if the old person is a tax payer or a non tax payer.
For tax payers, the government should pay for this care. As this person has been paying taxes for years, this care should be provided by the government. The essentials should be provided to the old people such as food, medicines, health facilities and equipment that they would be needing for them to be healthy or to help them with their health conditions if there are. For the non-tax payer, this will be very hard for them as this will be at their own expense since they have not paid any contributions to the government, the government cannot help them. Although a lot of non- government organizations are willing to help them but will require a lot of requirements and conditions.
The Family however has a big contribution to this. Even though the person involved is a tax payer or non tax payer, the family has the obligation to take care of their old ones emotionally and psychologically. The old people tend to loose their memory but a portion of their memory only and it will be very helpful for them to live on if they can still feel the warmth and presence of the family. Although some families does not have this closeness to their old ones and sad to say it is not a good sight to see that these old people are slowly moving away without anybody at their side.
