It has been observed that, a number of students do not have a positive attitude towards studying at academic institutes. I believe, determining the causes of this issue could assist in finding effective solutions to overcome it.
Suddenly increase in the level of scientific lessons, could partly account for the lack of interest to universities among students. Academic lessons do not have the difficulty degree as schools, and are taught in a different type in comparison to other previous grades. For example, all of students have learnt addition and subtraction operations in mathematics in primary and high-schools as a substantial and easy understanding lesson. However, after entering to higher university grades, they are compelled to study subjects such as integral and derivatives from original language references, which are less likely to comprehend. One effective way to solve this problem, is to holding pre-university classes for all students who are not able to get along well with high levels of teaching. Through this, they will benefit from different methods of teaching which will be offered by several professors. Consequently, they reach an acceptable knowledge level and pass their exams successfully.
The reason why students struggle with studying at colleges is due to the fact that, university professors are not always accessible and their presence is restricted to their own curriculum. Since several they are surrounded by different scientific works, it is obvious to hardly have time for student’s lesson’s problems. According to my own experience, when I was a master student, just one of my tutors had specific plan for meetings with students and other professors were not at university, even when they have important work. To address this issue, professors should provide students with different contact ways so as to solve their problems and help them as they can.
To conclude, even though high levels of university lessons and inaccessibility of professors contribute to issue, educational authorities can remedy the situation. In my opinion, attending pre-university classes and establishing different way of communication with tutors, are steps in the right direction.
