To illustrate, the movie “Hunger Games: Mockingjay” shows how the Capitol destroyed a hospital full of unarmed innocent citizens, including children, because of the rebellion the protagonist started. Devastatingly so, we can see a comparison between the movie and the genocide in Palestine as a hospital has also been bombed in Palestine by the Israeli government. Thus, this piece of media can be used as a prime example of how fiction parallels reality today.
Furthermore, mass media has a huge positive influence for our society because it brings different groups of people from various cultures to make a difference. For instance, millions from all around the world have now become more aware of the ongoing genocide in Palestine as more people are utilizing social media to raise awareness about the deadly execution the people of Palestine face. This leads the community to be in service of the Palestinians, even in social media, by encouraging people to be informed and to help when they can.
