I totally agree that with the increase in number of privately owned vehicles, roads are becoming more congested. There should be various measures that should be taken by government as well as individuals. It would help everyone living in society
The major problem due to which people have been diverted to take their own vehicles and travel has been increased gradually with time. People travel with their own vehicle to save time as they do not get good facilities in public transport at particular time. It is moral responsibility of government as well as individuals, to take counter measures to deal with this kind of situation. Government should introduce public transport facility, where any individual can take good use of public transport. Transportation facility should be available at each and every place and should be affordable to every class of the society, where all middle class, upper class and lower class people can travel conveniently. The frequency of transport should be accessibly during any time of the day. In addition to this, government should make certain laws where people cannot use certain vehicle if there are not sufficient number of person in the vehicle. In United States, there is one rule for the same where, if two people are not there in a vehicle then they cannot use overtaking lane.
Individuals are also responsible to deal this kind of situations, they should take initiative on their own and educate people in society. Individuals should share the vehicle, when commuting to their workplace or study place. People going to same place residing nearby should try moving in same vehicle which reduces traffic. In todays life, even students going from same residence area to schools and colleges travel in different vehicle. if they counter this and travel together, their bond with people and communication skills will also improve.
