Band 6: With the rise in popularity of the internet, newspapers will soon become a thing of the past. To what extent do you agree or disagree? (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 2 Essay)

Over the last few years, the Internet has become a vital part of our lives, our work and our societies. Because of its speed and convenience, some believe that newspapers will soon disappear. In this essat, I will discuss both sides of tge argument and explain why I partly agree with this idea.

Lookinf firsrly at on side of this statement, the Internet offers significantly faster and convenient than traditional newspapers. Individuals can access the latest news at any location through their smartphones or computers. In addition, online news is often updated every minute, while print media only come once a day.

Turning to the another point of this statement, e-news is usually free, while broadsheets cost money. Many people prefer not to pay when they can read the same information online without any cost. Also, vitual news platforms offer videos, pictures, and links to related articles, which make the news more interesting and interactive.

However, humans still enjoy reading printed newspapers, especially order generations who are not used to digital devices. They like the feeling of holding a newspaper in their hands. But as technology continues to improve and more people learn readers are likely to decrease even more.

Thus to conclude the discussion it can be finally said that the Internet is replacing newspapers because it is rapid, cheaper, and effortless. While a portion of the population continues to favour printed news, it is evident that traditional newspapers are gradually losing their appeal and could potentially vanish in the near future.
