The problem of inequality in access to different professions because of your gender is still obvious nowadays. I am going to explain that this situation should be improved and all people have every right to work in different fields no matter what beliefs about their gender exist.
First of all, it is unfair to assume great differences in people’ abilities based only on their gender. In many cases gender gaps were caused by primordial refusal to access different facilities. The example of that is practically the absence of women-scientists before the 20s century. That situation was caused by the inability of women to attend universities and other educational institutions for the whole previous period, while men had that access. Nonetheless, after a short term, women started to present their own scientific discoveries. One of the first female researchers is Marie Curie, who worked on radiation, and even got a Nobel Prize for that on an equal basis with men.
Secondly, the attribution of different weaknesses to a particular person due to general stereotypes is also the reason for excluding somebody who may be really effective at work. Thus, people tend to see the greatest male weakness as communication. In particular, it is believed that the least thing men do successfully is taking care of children. Therefore the number of men-nurses, babysitters or teachers is definitely lower than women. Teaching is increasingly a female-dominated profession though it does not mean that a particular man cannot be good at it. This issue nowadays is under control by UNESCO, and different countries make efforts to achieve gender balance because it was proven that equal presence of both genders from the youngest age may influence the future equality, which is really essential.
In conclusion, I would like to say that excluding people from any profession because of their gender is not acceptable. People should have access to any work they want, they may even succeed in it in spite of circumstances and others beliefs.
