Being employed for an internationally affiliated enterprise is more beneficial than working for a locally owned business is subjective and depends on various factors. While both forms of employment are advantageous in their own right, I am personally only am somewhat in agreement with the proposed topic. The following essay will highlight several reasons which will support my stance.
To begin with, employees of large internationally affiliated companies may face certain cultural differences and communication challenges. This can often have a negative impact on job satisfaction while overall making collaboration and integration within the enterprise more strenuous. On to of that, foreign-owned companies may limit their employees ability to contribute towards decision-making processes, particularly if the company’s headquarters are located overseas. This can result in local workers have a reduced number of opportunities in influencing the direction of the company.
On the other hand, in some countries, working for a domestic enterprise may align more with national economic interests. Furthermore, they may employ policies to protect domestic industries and the vast numbers of employed workers This in turn may considerably affect job security for the employees of foreign-owned organizations. On top of that, international companies usually have a mixed-culture workforce which can assist individuals to establish a broader understanding of different cultures, which in turn can foster sympathy and create a more effective form of communication with others from different backgrounds.
In conclusion, whether or not being employed by an internationally-controlled organization is more advantageous than a role in a domestically affiliated company is ultimately dependent on an individual’s preferences, job requirements, industry factors and the specific circumstances of the companies involved.
