Empathy at work
It was a busy period at work two years ago, when I noticed that my Product manager was looking stressed! Instead of focusing to continue my tasks, I took a moment to ask her if she was okay. She told me that she had to do a wireframe at Figma, but she couldn’t do what she was thinking about. Instead of just offering sympathy, I asked her how I could help her. I volunteered to design some examples, and we worked together to completed the task on time.
This experience taught me that empathy at workspace isn’t just about understanding someone’s feelings, it’s about offering support with any way. At the moment, I really realized that small acts of my part can create a positive work environment and build a strong team. By showing empathy, we don’t just help someone who needs us but also, we create culture of teamwork and respect.
