The pollution levels have increased by a large extent in many cities, as many people drive their private cars both personal and professional activities. This increased pollutions may lead to several implications. This essay will discuss the causes of this problem and provide essential measures that need to be enacted to mitigate this issue.
Many people advocate that the primary reason for increasing pollution has been the excess or unnecessary usage of the private vehicles. The main factor contributing to this problem is the use of the own vehicle for daily travel to the work location. Currently, many offices in different regions have been locating their workspaces outside the city limits, encouraging the employees to travel a long distance by their vehicles. For example, many companies have been shifting their spaces to outskirts to overcome different operating, manufacturing and other related costs, due to which the people need to travel a long distances for work. Additionally, the transport facilities would not be adequate in such areas, as a result public transport such as buses and trains would be of limited use.
However, there are numerous measures that can be implemented to control the pollution. An alternative work option could be provided to the employees to work in a cyclic fashion. For instance, the employees could be instructed to work in two batches, one working in the office and other in the home environment using online tools like zoom, skype and teams . This choice would be feasible because of the growing technological changes and advancements. Another solution would be to divide the employees into two teams and allocate public transport for one group and other team members can travel on their own. By this method a significant amount of pollution can be reduced.
In conclusion, although the number of private cars and the level of pollution have been increasing in many regions throughout the world because of various factors, such as office locating beyond the city limits and lack of public transport, some precautions, such as using technological teams to work in different environment and making use of available public transport effectively can be taken to avoid this problem to a certain extent.
