People usually say children should always obey their parents’ advice since adults have a lot of life experiences. I partially agree with this statement, parents’ guidance should be followed, however, this issue also depends on children’s ages and their parents’ knowledge.
Since children in the young ages have not differentiated the good and bad yet, it is better for them to follow advice from their parents because adults are the previous generation, they know what is right and what can benefit their kids from what they have gone through. For example, children are struggling in their study performance, they can just ask for advice from their parents to find solutions. Moreover, kids may get courage from their family whilst listening to the parents’ advice.
However, children are growing up as they become more independent and mature, as well as their awareness of life are becoming better. They are able to recognize the bad and good, they know their needs and do not always need adults’ advice. Furthermore, not every parent has the right guidance for their children. Some parents do not understand the problems of their child due to the difference between two generations. Therefore, parents’ advice sometimes is not suitable for their children.
In conclusion, I believe parents’ advice is needed for children. However, they do not always need to obey parents’ guidance, and the effectiveness of advice should be taken into consideration.
