There has been a rising concern on the subject that people from many regions are tending to have children at a later age than in the past. This phenomenon could be contributed by the constant stress of financial problems and social status put on nowadays’ young people. It could have various positive effects in some educational aspects on the future generations, otherwise, it could result in poorer health conditions of both the children and the parents together with population issues in society.
On one hand, deciding to have children in the later years of life could reduce the rate of getting a completely healthy baby. It is obvious that a woman’s youthful body will have a high chance of giving birth to a healthy child. Research has proven that the older a woman gets, the less chance she will get to have a child. And even if it happens, usually both the baby and the mother’s conditions are predictably bad. Furthermore, it could lead to various population related problems such as the unbalance in the age of the population.
On the other hand, the trend of young people deciding to have children later than in the past could help them have enough time to prepare for a stronger financial foundation. This would ensure that the children could not only live in a great environment but also have proper education. Besides, parents who barely have financial stress on their shoulders could actually spend time with their children and assist them their whole lives growing up. Therefore, it is assured that the children will be living in a much healthier and better environment. For example, children who have a humble family background will barely have the chance to approach education as modern and advanced as those whose parents are always ready to pay. For all of the living standards and education related reasons, I strongly believe that the advantages of this phenomenon will outweigh the disadvantages.
To sum up, the rising trend of people having children at a later age compared to the past could have some negative impacts on the population and society’s health. However, it the environmental and educational benefits it brings will absolutely outweigh the cons.
