Rather than attending university, work based training is becoming more popular to young people in some countries. Some people believe its advantages are outweihing the disadvantages. Although there are some advantages, I believe the disadvantages are rather signifcant than the advantages.
On the one hand, though university can not give you an immidiate job, but it will give you a knowledge which is far more valuable than anything and one person can use this knowledge throughout his life to make a living and to contribute this knowledge for the betterment of the society. However, some universities are offering on campus jobs for their enrolled students, such as research assistantships, teaching assistantships, etc. So, the concept of having no jobs while studying in an university is not quite right. Even, some students are doing part time works outside of the campus, while doing bachelors or masters in an university.
On the other hand, work based trainings are helping young people to find an income source at early age. Having financial problems in the family which is a common problem in the developing and under developed countries, people tend to find jobs rather than seeking knowledge. Work based training, which is called by vocational training sometimes, gives the opportunity to a person to have a job from very young age, while if they had enrolled in a university, they could gain more knowledge in that time. Choosing work based training will give a man temporary financial stability, but in the long run, he will suffer from the lack of improvement of his career and social life. Therefore, people who are still in their youth, should not run after the early success, like selecting work based training instead of attending university. The wishdom gained from university, not only will give them a better opportunity for jobs in the future but also will help the improvement and betterment of the society and the world.
In conclusion, though there are many opportunities and good beneits of the work based training, but attending in an university is far better than that for the future of oneself and the world. That’s why, I believe attending in an university has more benefit than enrolling in a work based training.
