Nowadays, many media outlets like to publish stories about people’s private lives, especially those of famous individuals. Some of these outlets ask for permission before posting such information, but there are still many that do not and simply publish it. Personally, I believe that there should be strict rules in place regarding the posting of private information.
Firstly, some media outlets publish these stories about celebrities in order to gain more views, as people are interested in gossip about someone else’s private life. These types of stories receive more attention from the public and encourage people to read them. However, there are numerous instances where individuals have been mentally harassed because their private information was made public. For example, a few years ago, a celebrity couple divorced and all media outlets were fixated on the situation. Some of them even published false information in their articles just to attract more readers. Additionally, some people were eager to know private details about the divorce. In my opinion, it is extremely cruel to publish such information just to have of views, and it should be strictly punished.
Secondly, some media outlets now purchase information from close friends of individuals in order to create new gossip, without any regard for how the people involved may feel. Even newspapers publish news about people’s private lives, although their purpose is to report on news that is significant to society, not gossip. Moreover, nowadays, even on TV news, there are segments dedicated to reporting on divorces, scandals, and gossip.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that this practice should be banned, as there are far more important news stories in the world than gossip. I think that these sources of information should focus on issues such as famine, wars, and environmental problems.
