In recent years, there has been a growing debate about replacing old buildings and houses in cities with modern ones. While some people believe the opposite, arguing that old buildings should be protected, I strongly believe that some old buildings should be replaced with new, modern, and stronger structures.
Firstly, some people think that, from different perspectives, old buildings represent culture and should be protected and appreciated. Moreover, the old design of buildings seems more fascinating and beautiful than modern ones, such as cathedrals, mosques, and buildings from past civilizations.
On the other hand, some people believe that we should replace old buildings and houses in cities with more modern ones in order to ensure safety and improve aesthetics. This is because most old buildings and houses are on the verge of collapse at anytime and may cause danger. Therefore, old buildings should be replaced with new modern ones. In addition, many old buildings are not beautiful and are not perfectly constructed, especially old forts and castles. Regarding houses, old ones do not have a strong base as modern buildings do; even a slight earthquake can be devastating and more dangerous. I also believe that while some old buildings should be replaced with modern ones, cultural buildings should be preserved and renovated.
In conclusion, although both views have merit, some people argue that old buildings should be protected, while others believe they should be replaced with modern ones. I agree more with the second view; however, cultural buildings should be maintained and renovated for safety, such as cathedrals.
