The society has not yet met the goal of gender equality. Women still do not have the actual rights and opportunities of men. The statement has been mentioned in this question. Whereas, I strongly disagree argue with this statement / perception. Because from 20th century men and women have already been got liberty from discrimination according to international law. This is one of the competing reason where women still have the equal rights and options as men.
Firstly, women are experiencing freedom and creating opportunities in modern society. When was the period of domination over women than men. At that time, they couldn’t get any chances to explore themself among the society. Despite of that, they got lights of freedom. Now some of the women have already become prime minister of the countries which things make clear how much they have got independence in the society. For illustration J.K. Rowling is a British novelist film and television producer and others, best known as the author of the Harry Potter fantasy series who also corresponds to poor family.
In addition, nowadays they would like to do out of homework rather than depend on partner earning. It has been providing numerous prospects to expose their activities in relevant fields.
for example, there Sovita gautam who is a student of law and she has recently become a member of Nepal parliament. When she completed her graduation her parents already thought about her marriage but she did not accept this proposal. Although having pressure from family she decided to contribute herself for developing nation. After huge struggle she become a ministry of law. This is a remarkable reason how much they have got freedom. Therefore, I believe men and women both have similar untaped door in the society.
