Currently our lives revolve around the internet and increasing popularity of the internet has resulted in newspaper losing their popularity. I firmly adhere with the statement that the popularity of newspapers have plummeted due to various factors.
The primary purpose of a newspaper is to provide news. However, due to new forms of digital media getting popular, newspapers have lost most of their demand and purpose. In fact, online versions of newspapers are more popular than their corresponding printed versions. This has led to a lot of newspaper agencies shutting down due to a lack of demand. Online newspapers also provide videos and more images related to a specific news, giving the readers a better experience and understanding.
Another major drawback with newspapers is that they can’t provide the latest information. In other words, with the advent of online news channels, people have access to news at an instant with the click of a button. It is also easier to search for a particular news on the internet. In contrast, reading newspaper restricts a person to limited information. Keeping all the above said points aside, there are people who still prefer a printed newspaper with a cup of tea in the morning as it has become part of their life.
In conclusion, even though people still read news, their primary source has shifted from the traditional newspaper to other digital formats. Even though printed newspapers are still in circulation, their popularity is dwindling day by day and will eventually become history.
