Whilst many people believe that good leaders are born, others believe that good quality leaders are obtained over the course of life. This essay aims to discuss both views, as to which people make good leaders. In my opinion, good leaders are the one who are being brought up and shaped with time for reasons explained below:
One of the major reason why a good quality leader is the one who is trained over time is that, through different life experiences and lessons learned overtime, they are potentially able to make clear and calculated decisions. As well as develop the required skills such as critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed while leading. Whereas, it can not be guaranteed that one can be born with this skills at hand already. For instance, in most areas, before good leaders are chosen such as a president, there has to be campaigns and debates to determine whether they have good qualities to lead the country.
Furthermore, most of the qualities needed in a good leader take time to be achieved as they require a high level of discipline. This cannot be obtained by a fact of being born only. For instance, it is seen some places where parents have significant titles but their children not being entitled to the titles although being born in families with leaders.
Although it is plausible to say that good quality leaders are trained. In some circumstances, it is evident that leaders are born. For example, in royal families where titles are passed down to next generations and onwards. However, they also receive training and lessons on how to become excellent leaders.
Conclusively, good leaders are indeed the ones who are taught with time, because they get to experience and learn from their life challenges as most of the qualities require time.
