The current generation avoid much physical activities like hiking and mountaineering, which is a reflection of their addiction to their digital devices and their life in social media. Young people, tend to spend a lot of time with their friends posting online, taking pictures and making funny videos, and turn away from the video of physical activity. Such behavior is definitely a cause for concern for both the mental and physical wellness of an individual.
This was not the case 10 years ago, when children roamed through the streets with their friends and found random, yet fascinating things to do in the outdoors. But now, it has changed to the worst of our expressions, as increasingly many prefer to stay in the comfort of their homes and enjoy their time with their gadgets. Such a change in attitude began to be visible with the onset of corona when everyone around the world were confined to their homes, forced to attend online meetings and school classes, during which they developed a liking for the digital world. Ever since, the attraction towards the internet has only increased rapidly with more visually appealing platforms and sophisticated devices that cater to such needs. Movies, tv shows and platforms like youtube and Instagram provide a wide range of entertainment which is quite difficult to oversee.
This can be changed with a more simple solution: make the outside world more exciting than the digital one. Many would want to enjoy in the outside world if it too provided various entertainment opportunities and more exotic experiences. Schools and colleges could incorporate field trips for frequently to placed like the theme park, Waterpark or any other destination likable by the students. Event and competitions could be arranged throughout every city to encourage student participation and reward prices for the winners. Various clubs and groups can be formed to enjoy a variety of hobbies with those who align with the same interests. These are some of the solutions which can be brought in to change the current condition.
Hence, the power to change our livelihood is within us. It is only a matter of time that we decide to make changes to live more healthier and active.
