Youngsters are often influenced in their attitude by peer pressure. Peer pressure is the influence of individuals of the same age group by others. Although a lot of people agree with this statement, I totally disagree because when you look at the brighter side, it can be beneficial because it may lead to educational progress and living a healthy lifestyle.
Nowadays, the rate of peer influence cannot be overlooked and can be efficient in excelling in your studies. For instance, an individual can be surrounded by very intelligent students who excel in their academics and are very meticulous in achieving success. It will be evident that there will be a healthy competition among them which will in turn help everyone to learn from each other and grow.
Furthermore, peer influence by their friends of the same age group can lead to a healthy lifestyle. Learning is a continual process in life and you can only learn if you are exposed to situations or surrounded by people from whom you can learn. For example, young people living in the same hostel room practice fitness every morning, but there is this individual in the same group who may find it boring. If they keep doing it regularly, that individual might have the tendency to learn from the others thereby improving a healthy lifestyle.
To conclude, the younger generation is more and more influenced by their younger counterparts and this may result in positive impacts such as educational success and healthy living. There is a saying that goes, “Birds of a feather flock together.”
