In this modern era, there is a conflict among people regarding the best way for students to learn: offline or online? Some groups argue that libraries are unnecessary since students can find everything on e-platforms, while others believe that libraries are an essential part of today’s education. In this essay, I will discuss both perspectives and share my own opinion.
On one hand, with the rise of technology, students now have numerous benefits. They can read online anytime and anywhere, which saves them time. There are countless books available on online platforms, many of which are free or affordable. Additionally, if a student searches for any topic online, they can easily find relevant information, including different perspectives on the subject. Furthermore, students can conveniently store this information on their phones or laptops, allowing them to clarify doubts at any time. For these reasons, many individuals believe that e-platforms are essential.
On the other hand, many people argue that libraries are more beneficial for students. Sometimes, students can become distracted by e-learning and may spend too much time in front of screens, which can harm their eyes and lead to back pain. One survey shows that many students suffer from back pain and vision loss, and excessive screen time can also negatively impact their reading comprehension. Moreover, libraries offer a calm atmosphere where students can focus on their studies. In a physical reading environment, students can hold books in their hands and highlight important topics.
In conclusion, I personally prefer physical reading. Not only does it provide a quiet environment, but I can also read for hours without distraction or boredom. Additionally, I find that I retain information better when I read physically.
