It is essential to note that the modern world is an extremely interconnected system. Therefore, In order to deal with issues effectively governments often have to cooperate closely with one another. Besides that, many environmental issues on earth are not limited to specific regions. For instance, the CO2 emitted in India and China will increase the average global temperatures; there is nothing any one country can do to stop this trend in its own borders.
Even issues that at first glace may seem local, like pollution, are hardly limited to any one country. For example, if the water in a river is polluted it can spread the pollution down stream and to the oceans. The same can be said about air quality. My hometown, which is located in Iran’s southwest, often suffers from dust stroms originated in Iraq’s deserts.
In conclusion, I argue that these issues need be addressed internationally. In some cases, such as pollution, the issue can be resolved by close cooperation between a few countries. However, problems such as climate change require worldwide cooperation. Golbal warming, in particular, is a looming threat that needs to addressed properly. Unfortunately, in recent years this issue has been exacerbated. For instance, the USA left the Paris climate agrement, which was a step in the right direction. Disastrous problems will ensue, If the global community does not take proper steps to solve this issue.
