In today’s world, people state that government should improve the quality of the environment and housing conditions to reduce the number of citizens who are suffering illness and disease. From my perspective, I partly agree with the statement as there are many solutions which can help to improve people’s health such as eating habits and life balancing.
First of all, a polluted environment and low housing standards are one of the reasons that lead to disease and illness. Additionally, researchers from Melbourne university believe that living in a crowded space, poor safety and low air quality causes negative health outcomes and chronic disease. For example, a child lives in government housing, he might be at risk of disease infection and may suffer mental illness. Therefore, it cannot be denied that if government improves the quality of the environment and living conditions of housing, the people’s health will be better.
Moreover, eating habits play a crucial role in contributing to our health. In addition to this, a recent research conducted by Victoria University shows that a person who usually consumes fast food and soft drink, has a high risk with some diseases such as diabetes or high blood pressure. Thus, eating a diet and a healthy lifestyle is definitely against sickness and disease. Another typical example of a person who regularly does exercise, has a less chance of oral virus infection and a better immune system.
With all the reasons shown above, government should invest some budget for projects to address housing issues and environment problems in order to assist people to prevent sickness and disease. From the citizens side, we should eat healthy food and have an excellent life balance.
