The number of civilians caught for fast driving by the speed cameras on road and fatalities in road accidents over a period of eight years from the introduction of speed cameras in Britain are illustrated by the line graphs.
Overall, over the years a linear rise is seen in the fines while the fatalities by the road accident were mostly stable after the introduction of the speed cameras.
For the first quarter the people caught over-speeding had raised from 200,000 to almost 350,000. The same trend followed for all the time span after installation of the speed cameras as for the second quarter it was almost at 400,000 then reached almost 500,000. An exponential rise was observed for the final quarter as it begin just at 700,000 in the beginning to almost 1100,000 for the first year to almost 1600,000 at the end compared to 500,000 to 700,000 for the third quarter. While in a public survey  on the reason for the installation of the speed cams where 26% believed that it were for the safety, 3% didn’t had any idea and the remaining 71% believed it to raise revenue.
Furthermore, the graph for the fatalities was mostly stable for all the four quarters as it begin with almost 3200 deaths in the first quarter to almost 3250 till the middle of the second quarter. But a drop was observed for the end of the second quarter to 3000. then there was a stable increase till the end of the eighth year where it was almost similar to the second quarter. But the survey done on the effectiveness of the speed cams on rate of accidents on roads portrayed that 32% people agreed, 8% had no idea and 60% disagreed and were accurate
