The maps depict the arrangement of the current Huntingdon and alteration plan in the future. Overall, while numerous alterations will occur, some features will remain consistent.
According to the pictures, in both times the town center, which is in the east, the built-up area (homes, shops, etc), the train station, which is in the south of Brampton road, the Ring road, around the town, the railway from the south to the northeast, and the A1 road in the west, will remain the same position as the prior time. Whereas the Airfield will be replaced by the Industrial estate. Moreover, the future plan will have a stretch of railway connecting the old rail network in the east of the Industrial estate.
In today’s Huntingdon, the A14 road runs from the southeast corner of the diagram to the northwest side. There are two bridges: one over Brampton Road and another over the railway line. Additionally, there is a road leading to the airfield. Brampton Road connects the A1 road with the ring road, and there is a bridge crossing the railway. However, in the future, this connection to the A1 road will be removed, and the road will instead be adjacent to a roundabout. This roundabout will connect with a road coming from the northwest side and will be directly linked to the central roundabout shown in the diagram. Finally, the A14 will be converted into a smaller street that connects the A1 road and the ring road, but it will not link to the circular intersection.
