It has become increasingly prevalent for people to put their private details online for a variety of reasons including registration on social media or Internet banking. This essay attempts to shed light on both the merits and demerits of this tendency before concluding that I am in favor of the former notion.
On the one hand, putting personal details on the internet could have some detrimental impact on life. First and foremost, this choice may stand a greater risk of identity theft. This is because private information has become more accessible, and it creates chances for cybercriminals to exploit users’ data, such as sensitive details like names, addresses, and identity card numbers, and implication of this is that criminals would fraud for money. Furthermore, the advent of social media has heightened the risk of erosion of personal interaction. To be more precise, with the convenience of online interactions, people do not need to meet face-to-face, leading to decreased value placed on relationships and communications in person.
On the other hand, there are a host of compelling reasons as to why I am convinced that sharing personal details online could bestow enormous benefits on users. One rationale is that this tendency could help individuals conveniently access their bank. This perception could be reinforced by the fact that some Vietnamese banks, by putting users’ private information online, they would not need to use a physical card to withdraw money, providing users the flexibility to manage their pay. Another justification is that the growing advancement of social media channels could be beneficial to people living far away from their families. With the aid of digital devices and wide social networks, users could connect with fellows, parents, and relatives, leading to overcoming geographic boundaries, and fostering relationships between them.
In conclusion, adding personal details on the Internet could have some upsides, while I would contend that the downsides which it offers are significantly more noteworthy
