In today’s world, being a good leader is highly required for the big owners. It is believed the most essential feature that leader should have is intelligence. I partially agree with this statement as there are other crucial skills that are more important than intelligence.
To begin with, being intelligent does not mean that the person will be a successful leader who is able to control a lot of people. One of the main abilities that leadership requires is communication which is the solvation of most problems. Communication is the key element of being in contact with other people which leads to healthy work environment. Effective results will only appear if all the members of community understand each other in corporative way.
Another point to consider is the ability of working in stressful situations. The person can be the most intelligent person in the world, still unable to deal with harsh situations. Thinking clearly and rationally under pressure is one of the essential elements that good leadership wants. Employees will be affected by the leader who is not able to make decisions in stressful situations, so being good example to people around is crucial factor for leader.
To conclude, it would be wrong to totally deny the fact that intelligence is important in leadership. Successful leadership is the notion that wants social abilities along with intelligence. One should develop all the aspects of leadership that is required not just focusing on one.
