Depicted in the given maps are the transformations taking place in a popular tourist destination in a city over a decade commencing at 2000.
From the overall perspective, the tourist attraction underwent several significant changes, making it transform from a mostly green space to a recreational zone with the addition of new facilities to cater for tourists.
In 2000, there was a river in the north of the destination, flowing across the heritage railway to the east. The gift shop was situated centrally, along with a toilet and vegetation.
By 2010, there were no changes made to the river, except for the erection of the guardrail on the river bank. Likewise, both the toilet and the heritage railway remained the same in its original position. In contrast, a new area dedicated to parking and a hotel were constructed in the railway area. Meanwhile, adjacent to the toilet was a new cafe. Importantly, the gift shop was pulled down to make way for a sculpture in the center of the attraction, as well as the increase of trees nearby.
