The two maps show the changes in road access to a city hospital between 2007 and 2010. Overall, the hospital area became more developed with better public transport and parking facilities.
In 2007, the hospital was surrounded by a ring road. Hospital Road connected the City Road in the south to the ring road. There were six bus stops along Hospital Road, with three on each side. A public car park for both staff and visitors was located to the east of the hospital. In addition, there was a bus station west of the hospital, connected to the ring road.
By 2010, several major changes had been made. First, the bus stops on Hospital Road were removed and replaced by bus stations on both sides of the hospital road, linked by roundabouts at the north and south ends. Secondly, the old public car park was divided into two separate parking areas: a staff car park remained in the east, while a new visitors’ car park was built to the west of the hospital. Furthermore, the ring road itself did not change, but access to the hospital became more organized and convenient.
Overall, the road system in 2010 was more modern and efficient compared to 2007.
