The bar chart illustrates the number of Internet users in five countries between 2001 and 2002. Whereas the table outlines the growth of Internet connections for those countries over the same period. Overall, it is clear that a higher number of people in South Korea use the internet than in other countries. In contrast, the least number of internet users and the highest percentage of growth of internet connections were for Britain, during both years.
By 2002, the number of internet users increased in all countries. The highest rate of increase belonged to Britain, with 230%. It was followed by Japan with 75%, and Germany with 67%. However, the rate of growth in the USA and South Korea was lower than others, at 50% and 41%, respectively.
In contrast, the number of internet connections in South Korea was higher than in other countries, approximately 25,000 people in 2002, about 5,000 more than its previous year. However, other countries’ Internet connections were lower than 10,000. Japan and the USA had almost 5,000 users in 2001, but in 2002, Japan had slightly more users than the USA, at approximately 8,000. Moreover, Germany reached about 5,000 in 2002, from 3,000 in 2001.
