The two maps demonstrate a notable urbanization of the Ryemouth village from 1995 to the present day. Overall, the village, depending on fishing and agriculture, has experienced a radical transformation into a tourism center, with the introduction of new facilities: a golf and tennis area.
In 1995, the Ryemouth village had two main roads: one from the northwest to the southeast and the other running along the coast, from west to east. While the densely populated area was on two sides of the former road, another cluster of four houses was situated independently in the southern section. Whereas, farmland and a public forest were located at the northeastern corner. To the south was space for the fishing industry, with a fishing port and fish market opposite a line of shops. At the intersection of the two avenues, there was a hotel on the north, directly facing a cafe.
Regarding the present layout, while the residential area in the north remained unchanged, a road was established to connect the independent housing zone and two new houses to the main road. At the same time, the farm and forest park have been removed to pave the way for the development of the golf section and tennis courts. To the south, the most substantial change occurred in the destruction of the fishing port. Therefore, the market and shops were also renovated to become apartments and nearby restaurants. Finally, the hotel and cafe remained relatively untouched, with only a parking space built adjacent to the hotel.
