Overall, the number of people who cleared their driving test increased steadily. Moreover, a larger proportion of women cleared their driving test as compared to men.
In 1980, almost half of the women who took their driving test, cleared it. On the other hand just under 30% of men were able to pass their test. The proportion of women rose slightly to a little more than half in the next decade, while the proportion for men gradually increased to around 38%.
In the year 2000, the percentage of female passing their test saw a massive surgence to a high point of around 68%, receding to approximately 63% in 2010. In case of males, their proportion rose by around 10%, reaching almost half in 2000, then staying steady in the next decade.
