In this day and age, some students have trouble with focusing on studying at school. There are several factors contributing to this phenomenon which include boring learning methods, lax discipline as well as health problems and it can be tackled by teachers and parents.
Students are distracted by both intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Firstly, this problem results from learning methods which means that learners are uncomprehended with the knowledge provided. For example, when teaching science subjects such as physics or chemistry, some teachers just give a conclusion of experiments without explaining why has this, leading to students’ confusion as well as the loss of interest and concentration. Besides, other students’ behaviors also exert a significant impact on the focus. For instance, when learners sit besides friends talking or using smartphones, they are inclined to participate in this talk or imitate their actions. Secondly, students’ distraction is caused by the status of their physical and mental health as if pupils suffer from illness, headaches or stress, their brains can not perform tasks as efficiently as normal circumstances.
To address this phenomenon, teachers can elaborate on the essence of knowledge instead of giving a formula to evoke their interest. In addition, they should impose heavy punishments to students who violate regulations when studying, which can ensure other students’ productivity. However, they also cooperate with students’ parents to follow their health problems and give viable solutions. For example, if students are stressed because of their score, teachers should console them or parents should take them out to lift up their mood.
In conclusion, students have difficulty paying attention at school due to learning methods, lax discipline and health issues, and it can be solved if they have teachers and parents’ support.
