The three pic charts give a breakdown of how Springfield college spend its annual budget in the years 1990,2000, and 2010. Overall, most of the budget was for stuff salaries in all the three years, and the smallest proportion of the budget was dedicated to technology with the exception of 2010.
In terms of staff salaries, teacher salaries accounted for the largest percentage of the annual budget in all the three years, starting at 40% in 1990 and increasing to 50% before a decline to 45%. Other workers’ salaries had the second highest figure in this twenty-year period apart from 2010. In the first year, the college spent 28% on this category, and the figure decreased to 15% in 2010.
Expenditure on insurance rose continually from only 2% to 8%, a fourfold increase. Similarly, the money spent on technology increased considerably, making up a fifth of the total budget in the final year. Notably, the college spend almost equal amount of money on furniture and equipment and books in 1990, at 14% and 15%, respectively. While the former saw a sharp decrease to 2% before a slight increase to 3% in 2010, and the latter rose to 20% before declining to 95 in the final year.
