Overall the number of people living in the New Zealand increased slightly. The population of older people saw huge ensurgence whilst number of young people decreased.
The age groups that saw positive change were older than 65 and people aged between 40 to 64. The 4% increase was the largest in the list which occured for people aged 65 and more. Although they make up the lowest number of the total poulation. The second largest by both size and growth were the group aged from 40 to 64 which saw increase of 0.6%.
The number of young and middle aged people saw minor drop of 0.2%. People aged between 15 to 39 remained the largest group and under the age of 15 were the third largest.
