The pie charts compare the proportions of staff qualifications at an advertising company from 1990 to 2010. Overall, staff with a PhD in science, a PhD in art and a master’s in art experienced an upward trend, while the reverse was true for first degrees in science and art, indicating that the company hired more staff with higher qualifications. Additionally, the percentage of workers with master’s degrees in science remained stable over the period, remaining one of the largest categories among others.
Starting with increases, only 13% of company employees had a PhD in science, a figure that increased significantly to 30% in 2010. However, slight rises were observed in the proportions of PhDs and master’s in art, growing from 21% and 2% in 1990 to 23% and 5% in 2010.
In contrast, the remaining categories exhibited an opposite trend. Company staff with a first degree in science accounted for 20%, which was then followed by a considerable drop by 9% in 2010. Starting at 15% in the beginning, the proportion of workers with a first degree in art decreased significantly to 2% by 2010, making it the least common qualification among staff within the company. Meanwhile, the figures for master’s degrees in science remained the same throughout the period, at 29%.
