The table and the pie chart both show last years’ visits in total to hospitals in Australia. The data is shown in thousands.

Overall, the table gives information about the number of days patients stayed and left in a public and private hospitals, while the pie chart illustrates the percentage of patients in and out of the hospital. Both present data for several Australian states, considered as New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, and South Australia. Moreover, public hospitals had more number of single-day inpatients compared to private hospitals.

Among all the five states, New South Wales had the biggest mass for total public hospital for 6,097 thousands, while South Australia had the lowest visits in the public hospital, for 1,591 thousands. On the other hand, Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland had a similar number of private hospital stays, with Victoria having the most substantial visits at 2,235 thousands. However, comparable to public hospitals, South Australia saw the least number of stays in private hospitals.

In addition, the public hospitals contributed for about 60% of the overall stays, with both overnight and same-day stays being the equal contribution. Therefore, about 26% visitors were in private hospitals for a one-day treatment, while the other were taking the overnight-treatment at the private hospitals for about 14%.
