The line provides data regarding the number of several crimes between 2003 and 2021 in the city centre of Manchester.Overall, all types of crimes have different trends. First of all, the figure for burglaries was the highest one, but at the end of the survey it saw a dramatic decrease. When it comes to number of car theft, only this number followed an upward trajectory. It is also worth mentioning that, the number of robberies witnessed a flactuation between 2003 and 2012, but by the end of the span this trajectory ended at a similar level to 2003.
Initially, the number of burglaries stood at 3400 in 2003 and reached its high of 3700 in the next year. After four years, the figure for this type of crime plunged to 1200. Then, it saw a moderate rise by 300 in 2009. Finally, by the end of the period, it gradually flactuated between 2009 and 2012 and stopped at 1400.
When it comes to the number of car thefts, this figure stood at 1350 in 2003 and oscillated by 2008. From 2008 to 2010 it saw a sharp increase to 2600 after experiencing a slight decrease to 2500 in the next year it climbed to 2700 at the end of the survey.
Wiht regard to the number of robberies, it was at the lowest rate among other crimes. It stood at 600 in 2003 and peak at 900 in 2005, but reached a trough of 500 in the next two years. After that it experienced a slight growth by 50 and minimally dropped again to 510 in 2011. By the end of the span this number returned to its initial level
