The pie charts illustrate the distribution of weekly working hours in three groups of workers, namely employees, owners/managers, and the total workforce in Australia in 2001.
It can be easily seen from the graph that the percentage of long-hour workers was prominent in owners/managers, while employees were likely to work part-time
Regarding the employees, the percentage of people working part-time was 38%. The figure for people who worked over 41 hours per week accounted for 33%. 29% of employees worked 35-40 hours per week.
In terms of the owners/managers, the majority of workers (67%) worked long hours, far exceeding the percentages of workers in full-time (19%) and part-time (14%)
According to the total workforce, 40% of the total workforce worked more than 41 hours a week. The percentage of part-time workers was 33%, and full-time workers made up 27% of the total workforce
