Dear Lara,

I hope you are well. I’m writing to thank you for your kind invitation. However, I’m afraid I can’t come due to my packed schedule.

It’s been great hearing from you after a while. I really appreciate your invitation since we haven’t seen each other for a long time.

As I told you in our previous chat, I changed my job recently and I’ve been working around the clock for the past few months and I absolutely need a break. Visiting Australia would have been a great idea. Do you remember Monna? She was the bright spark of our school and now he is the CEO of a hi-tech company and I’m working for him now. We’re running some new AI-based projects.

Catching up during Christmas will be a great idea if it’s ok with you, I really would like to come and unwind together for a few days.
